If nothing else, we would have liked to see atleast an IPS panel on it. From a company that is king of Super AMOLED displays, it is disappointing to see a TFT display on this tablet. This means that the viewing angles arenвЂ™t great. The only downside is that the display is a TFT panel which is a big disappointment. As weвЂ™ve mentioned, the tablet has a 10.5-inch display, with a 1920x1200 pixel resolution. The 10.5-inch display has a 16:10 aspect ratio which means that when you watch movies, you will see black bars at the top and bottom, but thatвЂ™s ok as the bars arenвЂ™t thick enough to hamper the viewing experience. The device is slim, the size is good for playing games or watching videos, and I didnвЂ™t face any issues watching videos on the device while keeping it on my lap. The rubberized back adds grip to it, the device is slim and without investing in a case to prop it up at an angle, typing in landscape mode is tough. Overall, the build of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A is good. The front camera rests in the centre of the top bezel. You also have the rear camera placed in the upper third of the back similar to what we saw on the Galaxy S8. When it comes to port placement, you have the USB-C port at the bottom and the 3.5mm jack at the top when held in portrait mode. If not the keyboard, at least a cover that doubles up as a stand, something like the iPad smart cover. I wish the keyboard accessory was part of the package. It doesnвЂ™t come with a cover or the keyboard case in the box which is a bummer since the bottom of the device (when held in landscape mode) does have the Samsung connector. When playing games or watching videos, the device is comfortable to hold. However, it is easy for you to cover a speaker or 2 when holding the tablet in landscape mode. This is great as it makes the tablet quite loud. When held in landscape, the bezels are thick enough to act as a grip without you accidently touching the display.ДЄn interesting thing to note is that the tablet has 4 speakers вЂ“ 2 on each side when held in landscape mode. On the front you have the 10.5-inch display and the side bezels (when held in portrait mode) are quite thin. The 10.5-inch form factor is a tried-and-tested one (by the iPad for the past year), so as far as ergonomics are concerned, you will feel right at home.

It is also nice to have a rubberized finish on a tablet when most of them are either plastic or metal. At the back the tablet has a rubberized finish which gives the device a good grip when held for long periods of time. Well-built is the first thing that comes to mind when you hold the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. On second thought it is nice that the device doesnвЂ™t an earpiece as it would be strange to see people holding a 10.5-inch device to their ear to make a call.Дisplay: 10.5-inch TFT display with 1920x1200 pixels

You will have to resort to a pair of earphones or a Bluetooth headset if you decide to use this as a behemoth phone. Its sad that you donвЂ™t get a pair of earphones in the box as the device does support calling and doesnвЂ™t house an earpiece. In the box you get the tablet, a USB-C cable and the 9V fast charger.
